Some tips to draw fabric and fabric in motion for @plansfortwoblr! I hope this helps you/answers your question! Happy drawing, keep makin’ the world beautiful /o/!!
AWW THANK YOU Honestly I just go by what I think looks nice, no science behind my choices, but I can offer some tips
TIP 1: In case you know completely nothing about color theory, I suggest you to learn at least the basics of it! This will not replace learning how to color good, but you will feel way less lost
TIP 2: shift your goddang hue!
same base color, different shading a common mistake is just making the base color darker or lighter, it’s not a sin of course, but shifting the hue and using colors that aren’t the same as the base one could definitely improve your drawing. you have infinite choices!
TIP 3: Play around with settings
worry not! these aren’t a SAI exclusive, any decent art software should have something like this, or even more
TIP 4: Keep your saturation levels consistent enough
Can you spot the “mistake”? having a desaturated color in a bunch of saturated colors, and viceversa, may look a bit off so I’d suggest you to avoid it… it is possible to mix them properly, but unless you know what you’re doing, it could be a bit difficult to get right
TIP 5: Overlay layers
(use clipping group if it’s a transparent pic)
(again, not a sai exclusive) after/before this you could also play around with the settings
There is also an extension that allows you to right click on any image and instantly access any and all of these, meaning it literally takes seconds to source a piece.
Reminder that none of the following are proper sources:
Please also keep in mind that you need permission from the artist if you want to post the piece. Even if it’s linked back to the source, if you didn’t get permission it’s still stolen.
bolded that last part because it’s the most important part here
It’s getting to be that time of year where sickness is rampant. If you have a friend or acquaintance with health issues - particularly a weak or compromised immune system: ALWAYS check in with them before meeting up if you’re feeling sick, even if it’s just a tickle in the back of your throat!
(The last time I was around a friend that was sick I got a cold that lasted for 3 months and a chronic infection from it)
